Universidad de San Martín de Porres (USMP)

The University of San Martín de Porres (USMP), for more than 58 years in the educational sector in Peru, has been committed to educating highly competent professionals founded on solid humanistic, ethical, moral, and civic values. We aim to establish a modern, equitable, and committed country's development through social engagement.

The USMP is a major center for academic research by developing projects that promote the dissemination of science, technology, and culture. We are constantly seeking to establish lines for innovation to serve multidisciplinary projects according to the different needs that society requires nowadays; likewise, it focuses on the importance of innovation within education and seeks to be the link that goes beyond the academic.

Through the Institute of dwelling, Urban Planning and Construction (IVUC) of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, the USMP has established itself as a national and international executer in research, innovation, and dissemination of the use of bamboo. The IVUC's website, Centro del Bambú del Perú, compiles the institute's commitment to promote and strengthen the value of the bamboo production chain in the area.

Universidad Agraria La Molina (UNALM)

The Universidad Agraria La Molina was founded in 1902, but only from 1960 is it considered a university. For more than 100 years, the UNALM has been distinguished by educating leaders in the agroforestry, fishing, food, and economic sectors, with proactive, innovative, competitive management and social commitment.

The UNALM, through the Bamboo Research Circle (CIB), promotes the development of bamboo by researching in partnership with other entities. Along with these collaborations, the CIB has launched the BAMBUCYT magazine, a space to reflect, promote and share knowledge about bamboo from different sectors and backgrounds.

Lima, capital of the Republic of Peru, is a megalopolis of 10 million inhabitants located on the Pacific Ocean coast, ranking in the top five of most populated cities in Latin America.

Lima’s historic neighborhoods show the most representative pre-Hispanic archaeological sites, as this city was Formerly founded as the City of Kings by the conqueror Francisco Pizarro in 1535. The historic sector of Lima is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to Lima’s architecture and cultural sightseeing places, in recent years, this city has been consolidating a reputation as the world gastronomic capital, inviting to discover the magnificent Peruvian cuisine in one place.
